Knit Mitt Kit Swap Questionnaire
The Questionnaire:
What are your favorite colors? Jewel tones mostly, but I'm an art major, I'll take any color that can't be pre-fixed with the word "puke" to describe it.
Are you a new mitt knitter? How long have you been knitting mittens? I usually knit gloves. I just prefer them that way.
Do you prefer solid or multicolored yarn? Yes please.
What fibers do you prefer in mitten yarn? Natural fibers, machine washable. Man made fibers don't breathe enough and leave you with that sickening film on your hands/feet when they're used for a snug fitting garment like mitts or socks.
Where do you usually knit mittens? EVERYWHERE! Check out my blog for photos of all the places my socks have been even before they make it to my feet!
How do you usually carry/store small projects? I have a small-ish canvas bag that I tote around, but I really need to get something more suited and less general for them. I've already lost three yarn needles.
What are your favorite mitten patterns? Hard to say, but my favorite glove so far is the Cigar on Knitty.com
What are your favorite mitten knitting techniques? Um... fast and yummy?
What new techniques would you like to try? I'm not sure. Would lace make for a good mitt/glove?
What are your favorite needles for knitting mittens? KnitPicks Options! My favorite needles for EVERYTHING.
What are some of your favorite yarns? I'm really enjoying my first encounter with Patons Classic Wool, though I really do wish it was superwash. In general, though, anything soft and yummy will satisfy.
What yarn do you totally covet? I'm not sure what the name of it is... it's on Rosie's Yarn Cellar as Merino Silk. It looks so very very nice!
Any pattern you would love to make if money and time were no object? Icarus in some really rich, soft, silky, cloud-like fiber.

If you were a specific kind of yarn, which brand and kind of yarn would you be? I'd be something classic, in an elegant color but still just a little abrasive.
Do you have a favorite candy or mail-able snack? I like to try all sorts of things from all over the place. For instance, one of the local shops got in a coffee flavored gum and I had to try it. So unusual!
What’s your favorite animal? Kitties! Large, well muscled, knock over your car on safari kitties.
Would you prefer super warm mittens or something more like fingerless mitts? I like warm. I can handle too hot better than I can handle too cold.
If you were a color what color would you be? Scarlet of course!
What is your most inspiring image, flower, or object in nature? Hurricane. They bring out the true persona of any individual.
Do you have a wishlist? At the top of the right-hand column of the main page, but I'd never expect anyone in a swap to buy those things. They should give a good idea of the type of stuff I like to look at though.
Anything else you’d like to share with the group today? Some people are only alive because it's illegal to kill them. And every semester when the new freshmen move into the dorms across the street, my belief in that fact is re-affirmed.
