On the Injured List
*cry* While I was cutting up sausage for the red beans Wednesday, I cut my middle finger on my left hand! It wasn't deep or long, and didn't really bleed, so I didn't think anything of it at the time. However, I've since found out the hard way that the cut is right where the left needle sits when I'm knitting, and while I was working on my socks last night, it split clean open. I tried a band-aid and some pain relief neosporin, but the pressure and pain are too much to let me knit (continental, anyway). I suppose if I start going into serious withdrawl, I can always try working on a large-yarn project and knitting English style.
Until then, check out our first fabulously fall day tree here in the deep down southern swamps of Louisiana.

A nice crisp 72 degrees when we headed out the door this morning, and it's stayed relatively cool for once. I wish I could knit so that I could knit outside! More than that, I wish my house was finished so that I could knit outside on my porch!

Oh well. It's only another 36 days until we close and can move in. I think I can handle the wait (I hope).
edit: after posting this, I realized that the people who see this blog who are coming from one list or the other that I'm on are going to think I'm completely out of my gourd for calling 72 degrees "cool". But then, those that live nearby and know the weather here know that it was in the triple digits before the cold front came through last night, so... =P

I have friends from Texas and they laugh at me when I think 80 degrees is hot. lol Of course, we live in a military town and you can always tell what part of the country people are from by how soon they don those sweaters!
