Complicated
So today was my first day living with diabetes (unofficially, since the diagnosis won't be confirmed until after my fasting three hour glucose tolerance test), and with the first twelve hours behind me I'm just awed at how everything simple became so very complicated. Choosing a meal suddenly requires research instead of just searching the pantry. I'm still figuring it out, but I'll have to change the way I knit to make accommodations for the places where I test my blood sugar on my fingers. I have been told by another knitter that after a while, the test sites aren't nearly so sore, so there's hope that any change isn't permanent. There's also hope that once the baby is delivered the diabetes will resolve. Even if this does end up being a temporary situation, I definitely have a new perspective.
